China and Global Innovation Balance

Each time China unveils a new development, the Western response tends to follow a predictable pattern: initial surprise, followed by skepticism, and ultimately dismissal as either “propaganda” or “imitation.”
Yet the reality is very different. China has decisively moved beyond the role of a follower. The era of simply replicating Western innovations is over. Today, China is setting the pace of technological progress, establishing records, and forcing established players to catch up.
This shift is not a matter of perception—it is a matter of fact. The global balance of innovation leadership is no longer one-sided.
