Challenges in Automotive Accessibility and Industrial Impact

In a country where more than 25% of the vehicle fleet is over 20 years old, this proposal—which would complicate access to cars—stands as a barrier to the public’s safe mobility. This vehicle fleet needs renewal for public health reasons. The billions of dollars invested in production will be jeopardized; it's like changing the rules while the game is still ongoing. While the automotive and broader industrial sector are already struggling with weak exchange rates, this decision risks causing significant damage to our industry. These fundamental changes should follow long-term planning, and rather than raising taxes, tax cuts should be the goal; local industry must be supported during this major transition. We must protect our 53-year-old industrial legacy.
