The price of the BYD Seagull has dropped to $7,770 (approximately €6,815), exceeding all expectations amid the new phase of China’s trade war.
This level of competition will make survival extremely difficult for other automakers operating in China. For international customers, however, it presents a unique opportunity to capitalize on emerging advantages.
The message to the world is clear: "We’re coming for you!"
This situation recalls the story of India’s $5,000 “people’s car,” the Tata Nano. Initially praised for its low price, the Nano’s cost eventually rose to $7,000 and failed to achieve the anticipated success.
Now, the BYD Seagull is being sold at a price equivalent to just 2.5 MacBooks.
